What Is the Card Security Code?
A CID is a special security code feature on your American Express, Diner's Club, Discover, MasterCard or Visa credit card.
CIDs are not raised, so they are not scanned into standard credit card readers. In theory, these numbers are only visible to you. When you give your CID to a merchant, you assist the merchant in verifying that the order is being placed by you, the card holder.
Star Creations requires you to enter your CID whenever you place an order online to help us detect fraudulent use of your card before your account is charged. This simple step allows us to greatly enhance the safety and security of our ordering process. You may receive a call from our Credit Department to verify your order if your CID is missing or invalid.
Discover Card
Users
Flip your card over and look at the signature box. You should see
a 16-digit credit card number followed by a special 3-digit code. This 3-digit
code is your CID, like VISA and MasterCard.
Visa Credit Card
Users
Flip your card over and look at the signature box. You should see
a 16-digit credit card number followed by a special 3-digit code. This 3-digit
code is your Card Security Code.
MasterCard
Credit Card Users
Flip your card over and look at the signature box. You
should see a 16-digit credit card number followed by a special 3-digit code.
This 3-digit code is your Card Security Code.
American Express Credit Card Users
Look for the 4-digit code
printed on the front of your card just above and to the right of your main
credit card number. This 4-digit code is your Card Security
Code.
