Directed by the distinctive, unwavering
hand of Jack Webb and with Webb in the leading role of Detective Joe Friday,
the "Dragnet" television series of the 1950s became the first highly successful
TV cop show. Famous for its tense, staccato pacing, the monotone of its
onscreen dialogue and its punchy musical theme, the show became a national
obsession and a frequent subject of parody and humor on radio and
television.

My Little
Margie Margie (Gale Storm) is a 21
year old girl who lives with her father in a Fifth Avenue apartment. Her father
(Charles Farrell) thinks he's some kind of swinger, while Margie tries to get
him to be conservative .Margie always manages to get her father into some kind
of trouble along the way. Here's three zany madcap shows from this early comedy
sitcom. VERN'S WINTER VACATION (1952)
Faking amnesia, Margie tricks her dad into taking her to Palm Beach
to meet Freddie. However, her Dad overhears her talking and decides to turn the
tables on her. Margie's typical antics lead to an embarrassing and hilarious
laugh fest! INSURANCE (1953) A lucky stroke allows Dad to save
the company over $60,000.Margie reads the newspaper and discovers the stock
market crashed. Not knowing her father had sold his stock before, and fearing
he was having a nervous breakdown because he was broke, she puts the apartment
up for rent. The scene turns into a real mess with side-splitting laughter and
fun! CASE OF
THE HELPING HAND (1953) Mr. Honeywell hires a new man for the Dallas
office, but lets Margie's Dad believe the new hire is replacing him. Margie
gets wind of it and also believes Dad is losing his job. Margie hatches a plan
to make the new employee lose Mr. Honeywell's confidence. As usual it blows up
in her face, and Margie finds herself in one of those classic crises that early
TV viewers grew to love!
THE TROUBLE WITH
FATHER Stu Erwin portrayed a mild
mannered high school principal, and June Collyer played his wife in this TV
comedy series which often had celebrity guest stars. Stu and his family get
into hilarious hi-jinks in each show over incidents that start out as simple
mistakes. Included are three top episodes, one with a rare cameo appearance by
James Dean. Get ready to laugh and have a great time!
JACKIE KNOWS ALL
(1952) Special guest star, James Dean. Harold convinces Jackie to
buy a "mind reading" book, but Jackie discovers it¹s bogus. Together they
cook up a scheme to make everyone think she is clairvoyant. Meanwhile, Mr.
Parson is trying to buy some land from Stu. A new airport is to be built there
and Stu hatches a plan to get top dollar for the property. The end result is a
belly laugh. Catch James Dean and teen Martin Milner talking in this one. PEARL
NECKLACE (1953) It's the anniversary of the Erwins' engagement. At
the jewelers Stu meets an old friend who is buying a $1,500 pearl necklace for
his mother-in-law. Doing him a favor, Stu takes it home along with the
simulated pearls he'd bought for June and hides it. When June sneaks a peek she
finds the expensive necklace, not the pearls Stu had purchased. Not wanting to
disappoint her, Stu goes along with it. But chaos erupts when he tries to make
the switch without the ladies finding out!
THE BIG BUSINESS
(1954) Stu gets a $1,000 bonus check from the school board .The news
travels fast, soon everyone knows about it and Mr. Johnson convinces Stu to buy
some property. Stu then finds out the tenant is six months behind on the rent,
and he's stuck with a dress shop. Having no clue, he starts a price war with
the dress shop across the street, but loses money. June and Mr. Johnson find
out, and come to the rescue - or so it seems.
